Pumpkin carving

The kids wanted to be more involved in pumpkin carving this year.
Katheryn wanted to do everything, including cleaning out the pumpkin.
She wasn't that sure once she got started, but gave it a good try.

Nick was happy just to watch us.

He really wanted to carve his pumpkin all by himself.

Once we got the top off, the Katheryn and Nickolas did some of it together

Here are our finished products

Katheryn's monster with lots of eyes that go all around the pumpkin

And she signed her name on the back

Mommy did the Hulk.

Nick did a square face

Nick was very proud of his pumpkin

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was full of lots of fun with the kids!
We were all up at the cottage, and did some cottage jumping for the weekend as well.

We had some Avengers with us

And some quiet peaceful moments

Rory and Sam love it at the cottages.
At Orr Lake we had 4 dogs, 4 kids, 5 adults in one cottage. And all of the other cottages we full too

Katheryn actually let me take some smiling pictures

We went to the pumpkin patch (the same place we've been going to the last 3 years)
Nick had lots of fun running all over the place

The pumpkin patch has some fun toys for the kids to play with.
The giant tires were a hit (and I was trying to ignore the fact that tires are latex)

Katheryn got to ride some tire-horses

The boys played Avengers

Nick and Kyle had some races

Nick had some time with Grandma

Katheryn loved the jumping castle. She would get up so high!

Nick had no desire to jump, he was happy just jumping in his walker.

How much do 4 kids weigh?

Nick got brave and went in to feed the sheep. He let them eat right out of his hand!

Nick didn't want to go out into the field to pick his pumpkin (Kyle and Katheryn did though).
But he had his eye on the one he wanted

He just had to lift it up

Good try!

After a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner it was time for the Kushog Lake cottage
And a whole bunch of new cousins!
This time it was 5 dogs, 9 kids, 12 adults and 1 cottage. The weather was fantastic so we all ate Thanksgiving outside!

Katheryn is growing taller every day! I remember when she couldn't do this last year

Rory decided to explore the shoreline

And Nick just to rest

What is more fantastic that a pile of dirt at the cottage?!

Katheryn decided she was going to be queen

And baby Gwenny was all smiles as usual

Nick's ramp held up really well!

It was a great Thanksgiving, with lots of cottaging!

And the turkey song!
Gobble gobble, gobble gobble, gobble gobble, gobble get.

Pumpkin Time

This year we somehow ended up with 8 pumpkins
8! To be carved in one night

I had a couple of unusual pumpkins, including a white one and a green one. I thought the white one would be perfect as a ninja turtle. Cut out the eyes and mouth, scrape off the mask, it will be the perfect Michaelangelo!
Until I started to actually cut it out and realized that the inside was green!

The kids really wanted to get involved this year.
Both kids said that they wanted to get all of the guts outside, except they didn't actually want to touch the seeds.

So Kyle and I took over that job.

We had all of the child-safe pumpkin knives and the kids had all of these ideas for faces so we let them go.

The night had lots of fun and laughs (x8)

Katheryn had her masterpiece

And Nick had his pumpkin too! (He really wanted the little one)

And I had my favorite too

We are all ready for Halloween!

Thankful for Pumpkin Hunting!

For Thanksgiving we went for our family cottage weekend.

All of the kids went to the pumpkin patch. The first things that they headed for was the maze. And found the way out. But after turning back in and making some other choices run through the maze

They had cow and horse wagons, so when Nick got tired then he could ride like the other kids. And Katheryn and Madi liked pulling each other too.

Nick liked taking some selfies!

Katheryn's favorite part of the pumpkin patch was the pumpkin gun! She got the target too!

Nick was very particular about what he wanted with his pumpkin!

While showing off his standing skills

The pumpkins were a great photo (and photo-bombing) opportunity.

The leaves were so beautiful! But I think that the kids got a bit tired of my pictures. But funny-faces are good too

Back at the cottage the cousins had some play time together.

And our last fire of the year.

And some hide-and-seek

Talking about Thanksgiving, the kids were all very happy for their food and their family. And of course their cousins!
